On invitation of Henryk Wieniawski Musical Society, on Tuesday 9 of July at 6 p.m. in Poznań University Auditorium, The Twelve Cellists of Berlin Philharmonic will perform.
They are unique. They have played together since 1972. The personnel has changed over the years. Artists, great educators, international competitions’ prize winners make up that group. Everyone is a soloist and a team play master. They have a great repertoire – from old music to contemporary. They perform unique compositions, some written especially for them. Their concerts attract mature music lovers, but also a wide audience.
The twelve Berlin cellists (and one reserve!) are also famous for their sense of humor. They collect anecdotes, they have -next to their names – pseudonyms.
They will come to Poznań straight from Florence. They will play program typical for summer festivals - music certainly ambitious, but also commonly popular.
